Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain how I work, what’s included in my services, and what you can expect when booking The Dorset Wedding Co. By making a booking, you agree to the following terms.

 

Definitions

 

“The Dorset Wedding Co.” / “I” / “me” refers to the wedding planner and business owner.
“You” / “the couple” refers to the clients booking my services.
“Event” / “Wedding” refers to the wedding day and any connected events I am contracted to support.

 

Booking & Payments

  • A £500 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date.

  • Your chosen date is not confirmed until the booking fee is received.

  • The booking fee is deducted from your total balance.

  • Remaining payments will be outlined in your invoice and must be paid on time.

If payments are missed or significantly delayed, services may be paused until the balance is up to date.

 

Services Provided

 

I will provide the services listed within your chosen package, which may include:

  • Full planning

  • Micro Weddings

  • On-the-day coordination

  • Styling/design services

  • Supplier liaison

  • Timeline creation

Services outside your package can be added for an additional fee.

 

My Responsibilities

 

I agree to:

  • Provide planning services with reasonable care and skill

  • Communicate professionally and promptly

  • Manage timelines, suppliers, and logistics as agreed

  • Attend the wedding day for coordination (if included in your package)

  • Act in your best interest at all times

I do not guarantee the performance or availability of external suppliers.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information

  • Communicate decisions promptly

  • Pay invoices on time

  • Follow venue and supplier rules

  • Have suitable insurance if required by your venue

You are responsible for the conduct of your guests.

Changes & Upgrades

You can upgrade your package at any time if availability allows.
Reducing a package may affect what can be refunded (see Refund Policy).

 

Cancellations & Refunds

 

All cancellations must be made in writing.

Refunds follow the structure in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, including:

  • £500 booking fee is non-refundable

  • Refund percentages vary depending on how much work has been completed

If The Dorset Wedding Co. must cancel (only in extreme circumstances), you will receive a full refund.

 

Postponements

 

If you need to change your date:

  • Payments can be moved to the new date if I’m available

  • If  I am unavailable, the change is treated as a cancellation

  • A date-change fee may apply if major re-planning is required

I always aim to be as flexible as possible.

 

Supplier Contracts

 

All external suppliers (venue, catering, photographer, etc.) are booked and contracted directly with you.

The Dorset Wedding Co. is not responsible for:

  • Supplier performance

  • Supplier availability

  • Supplier cancellations

  • Refunds due from suppliers

I will, however, support communication and coordination.

 

Venue Requirements

It is your responsibility to ensure:

  • I am allowed on-site by the venue

  • Any insurance requirements are communicated

  • Set-up and access times are agreed ahead of the wedding

 

Insurance

 

It is recommended that you take out Wedding Insurance, which can cover cancellations, postponements, supplier issues, and unforeseen circumstances.

 

Liability

 

The Dorset Wedding Co. is not liable for:

  • Loss or damage caused by suppliers

  • Venue issues or closures

  • Acts of third parties

  • Weather-related problems

  • Personal injury, unless caused by negligence

I will always act with care and professionalism.

 

Photos & Marketing

 

With your permission, I may use non-identifying photos from your wedding (taken by your photographer or myself) for social media and marketing.
You can opt out at any time by emailing me.

 

Privacy

 

Your personal details will only be used for planning your wedding.
They will never be sold or shared for marketing purposes.

 

Complaints

 

If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please let me know as soon as possible so I can resolve it quickly and professionally.

 

Governing Law

 

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
